Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 offers many ways to make text such as titles, bulleted lists, or other important points stand out. One way to do so is to add shadowing effects to certain text. Shadows can appear around or inside letters, or you can add perspective shadows around text.

Two ways to add shadowed text are as follows. First, select the text you wish to shadow. Then:

A. Using the Ribbon

1. When the text is selected a "Format" tab should appear. Click it.

2. In the "WordArt Styles" section click on "Text Effects".

3. Select "Shadow" from the popup menu that appears.

4. Select an inner, outer, or perspective shadow type.

5. Click "Shadow Options" for even more configuration options. Skip to Step #3 below.

B. Right-Click

1. Right-click the selected text and choose "Format Text Effects".

2. When the "Format Text Effects" dialog box appears, click "Shadow" in the left pane.

3. From here, you can configure advanced shadow effects:

* Shadow presets are still available by clicking the button next to "Presets"

* Change the shadow color with the paint can button

* Change the transparency from opaque (0%) to completely transparent (100%)

* Change the size from 1% to 200% - note that for perspective shadows, this configuration option may produce undesired effects

* Change the blur from no blur (0 pt) to invisible at maximum blur (100 pt)

* Change the shadow angle from 0 to 359 degrees - this works best for outer or inner shadows

* Change the shadow's distance from 0 to 200 pt. away - this works best for perspective shadows

4. When you are done making your changes, click "Close" to close the "Format Text Effects" dialog box.
