SUMMARY: Distribute PowerPoint 2007 presentations that display as intended - embed TrueType fonts into the file.
If you distribute created Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 presentations with non-standard fonts (standard fonts on Windows machines include Times New Roman, Arial, and Verdana), these presentations may not display as intended on other machines since they may not have the same fonts.
To get around this problem, you can include, or embed, TrueType fonts directly into your presentations, helping to make sure your slide shows display correctly. To perform this tweak:
1. Click the "Office" button.
2. When the popup appears, click "PowerPoint Options".
3. The "PowerPoint Options" dialog box appears. Select "Save" in the left pane.
4. Next to "Preserve fidelity when sharing this presentation", make sure the current presentation is selected in the pull-down.
5. Check the box "Embed fonts in the file".

6. Decide whether or not you plan on allowing others to edit this presentation:
- If you are delivering a presentation that you want others to be able to modify, select the "Embed all characters" radio button. This way, entire TrueType fonts are embedded in the presentation.
- Otherwise, if you plan on distributing a final non-modifiable presentation such as one using the "Package for CD" feature, select "Embed only the characters used in the presentation". Since only the used TrueType characters will be embedded, the file size will be smaller.
7. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
8. Resave your presentation to include the embedded TrueType fonts.
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 - Ensure Others View Your Presentations Correctly by Embedding Fonts
