SUMMARY: Prevent mistakes in PowerPoint 2007 that result from accidentally dragging and dropping text.
By default, when you select text in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, you can click and hold on the text, dragging and dropping it to another part of the current slide.
While many people appreciate this editing convenience, others, especially those using a laptop touchpad / trackpad, might grow frustrated when accidentally moving text they do not wish to move. Thus, this option can be disabled if desired.
1. Click the "Office" button.
2. When the popup appears, click "PowerPoint Options".
3. The "PowerPoint Options" dialog box appears. Select "Advanced" in the left pane.
4. Underneath "Editing Options", uncheck "Allow text to be dragged and dropped".
5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 - Prevent Accidental Text Dragging and Dropping
