Disable Animation from Your Slide Show, and Quickly

SUMMARY: Need to show a previously-made presentation that includes animation to those who just want to "get down to business"? Temporarily hide animation from your slideshow.

If you have previously created a presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 that includes a liberal amount of animation such as fades, wipes, and fly ins, you may need to present the same slideshow to a group of individuals who may not appreciate your creativity. And by the way, you have five minutes to get ready for your presentation...

Instead of frantically navigating your entire presentation and removing all traces of animation, a simple checkbox lets you disable them while playing a slide show:

1. Click the "Slide Show" tab in the Ribbon.

2. In the "Set Up" group, click the "Set Up Slide Show" button.

3. The "Set Up Show" dialog box appears. Underneath "Show options", check "Show without animation".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Press F5 to verify your slide show will be seen without animation, then use the remaining couple of minutes to get ready for your meeting.
