PowerPoint 2003 Security and Privacy

Remember None of the Last Presentations Opened for Privacy

SUMMARY: Help increase your privacy when using PowerPoint 2003 by not showing the list of previously-opened files.

By default, in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, when you click the "File" menu, the four last-accessed presentations are shown. This way, if you view or modify a presentation regularly, you can easily reopen it without having to navigate your computer for the file.

However, if you share your computer with others, you may not want them to see the names and/or locations of files you have previously edited. For privacy, you can keep this list clear.

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "General" tab.
3. Uncheck "Recently used file list".
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
