Microsoft PowerPoint 2003

Enable or Disable Dragging and Dropping Text Between Applications

SUMMARY: Toggle whether or not you can drag and drop information between a PowerPoint 2003 presentation and other presentations or other Office software.

Depending on your Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, you may be able to drag-and-drop text from other presentations or other Microsoft Office software directly into a presentation. This way you can edit text in Microsoft Word, then drag-and-drop it to PowerPoint.

If this feature fails to work for you, or if you'd rather disable this option to help prevent dragging and dropping text by accident, do the following:

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Edit" tab.
3. Check or uncheck "Drag-and-drop text editing" as desired.
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
