PowerPoint 2003 - Misc - Toggle Ignoring Spelling Errors with Uppercased Words

SUMMARY: When editing a Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 presentation, do you need words in all CAPS spell-checked, or are such words mostly acronyms?

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003's spell-checking can treat words written IN ALL UPPER CASE as if they are acronyms. As such, since acronyms are not likely to be in the dictionary, PowerPoint will not spell-check such words.

However, you may often write slide titles in all uppercase for emphasis. In this case you would rather have PowerPoint spell-check this text as well.

To toggle this spell-checking behavior:

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Spelling and Style" tab.

3. Check or uncheck "Ignore words in UPPERCASE" as desired.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
