Microsoft PowerPoint 2003

Toggle Showing the Slide Layout Task Pane when Showing New Slides

SUMMARY: Configure whether or not you wish to choose amongst various Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 slide layouts or just use the default layout.

Depending on your Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 configuration, when you add new slides to a presentation, a "Slide Layout" task pane may appear. From here you can add a new slide based on various text, content, text and content, or miscellaneous layouts, useful if you want to add columnar text, a bar graph, or a movie into your presentation. Some find this feature useful; others would rather just always insert a blank slide with the default layout.

To change this behavior in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003:

1. Select "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "View" tab.

3. Check or uncheck "Slide Layout task pane when inserting new slides" as desired.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
