Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 - Remove Personal Information When Saving Files

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 presentations are saved with properties that signify the presentation author's name. Plus, other information can be added such as:

* Slideshow creator's manager
* Slideshow creator's company
* Category
* Keywords
* Comments

Also, some of this information can be viewed merely by hovering over a PowerPoint presentation's icon in Windows Explorer.

For privacy reasons, you may want to remove the author's name, manager, and company name from all saved presentations. To do so:

1. Click "Tools" - "Options".

2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears click the "Security" tab.

3. Check "Remove personal information from file properties on save".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Note that some file properties, if entered via the file properties option, will still be saved. These include the file's category, keywords, comments, and custom properties such as the client name, department, and group name.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 - Remove Personal Information When Saving Files
