PowerPoint 2003 - Misc

Display Slide Shows in Different Resolutions for Speed or Quality

SUMMARY: Choose the graphics display mode used to view Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 slide shows.

Depending on your needs, when displaying a slideshow in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 you can change the screen resolution as the show is presented.

* Lower resolutions may corrupt some graphics and make the text and graphics less sharp, yet may display PowerPoint 2003 slideshows faster on slower computers. Also, when displaying slideshows on an attached projector or monitor you may be forced to reduce the resolution to support the hardware.

* Higher resolutions allow maximum sharpness of text and graphics. However, this may cause PowerPoint 2003 slideshows to display more slowly, especially on older computers or computers without high-end graphics cards. Make sure to select a resolution supported by your computer and external devices, if applicable.

1. Select "Slide Show" - "Set Up Show".

2. When the "Set Up Show" dialog box appears, click the "Use slide show resolution" pull-down at the bottom of the dialog box. Here you can choose the resolution that Windows will switch to when it displays slideshows on your machine.

3. When done, click "OK" to close the dialog box.
