PowerPoint 2003 - Misc - Some Characters/Fonts Fail to Print Correctly

SUMMARY: Diagnose a particular Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 slideshow printing error.

In certain situations, when printing slides in a Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 presentation certain characters or fonts may fail to print correctly. A font may appear blocky or off-center, or symbols such as the Euro symbol may not appear at all on paper.

One option that works in some situations is to toggle the "Print TrueType fonts as graphics" setting. Note that this feature may not work for all printers, yet for some printers you might find printing occurs faster after enabling this option.

1. Select "Tools" - "Options".

2. The "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box will appear. Click the "Print" tab.

3. Underneath "Printing options" check "Print TrueType fonts as graphics".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box, and then try reprinting your document.
