SUMMARY: Configure whether or not Publisher 2007 should automatically hyphenate text when creating a new text box.
Depending on your configuration, Microsoft Publisher 2007 automatically hyphenates text in new text boxes to help display more text in the box without having to flow the text across boxes. Also, hyphenated text may prevent you from having to set up a text box to automatically adjust text size to fit the box.
For some situations, hyphenated text may not be desired, and in some situations this text may even look amateurish. While you can toggle hyphenation on a story-by-story basis, if you know all new stories in a document should not be hyphenated you can change the default setting:
1. Select "Tools" - "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Edit" tab.
3. Underneath "Hyphenation", check or uncheck "Automatically hyphenate in new text boxes" as desired.
If hyphenation is enabled, you can click in the "Hyphenation zone" box to adjust the zone where words will have hyphenations placed.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
