Microsoft Publisher 2010

Disable Paste Options Button

SUMMARY: Tired of buttons appearing every time you paste text into a Publisher 2010 document?

When you paste text into a Microsoft Publisher 2010 document, a Paste Options button appears, labeled with the text "(Ctrl)". Press the Ctrl key or click this button and options appear such as pasting the text normally, keeping the source formatting, or just keeping the text only and ignoring the source formatting.

While some appreciate having this feature easy available if they often need to change formatting, others find this button annoying. Thus, the "Paste Options" button can be disabled like so:

1. Select the "File" tab in the Ribbon.

2. The Microsoft Office Backstage View appears. Click the "Options" button.

(Or instead of steps 1 and 2, press Alt + F, then the letter T.)

3. The "Publisher Options" dialog box appears. Click "Advanced" in the left pane.

4. Underneath "Editing options", uncheck "Show Paste Options button when content is pasted".

5. Click "OK" on the bottom-right of the dialog box to close it.
