Add Euro, Copyright, Trademark, Other Symbols

SUMMARY: Add the Euro, copyright, and trademark symbols into your Publisher 2010 documents with ease, and other symbols with just a few clicks.

Ever need to insert a Euro, copyright, trademark, or registered trademark symbol into your Microsoft Publisher 2010 documents?

Publisher 2010's AutoCorrect features make inserting those symbols easy, and many other symbols can be added with just a few mouse clicks. Type one of the following groups of characters to have it replaced with the appropriate symbol:

(c) - Copyright Symbol
(e) - Euro Symbol
(r) - Registered Trademark Symbol
(tm) - Trademark Symbol

To add other symbols such as fractions, mathematical operators, and international currency:

1. Select the "Insert" tab in the Ribbon.

2. In the "Text" group, click the "Symbol" button.

3. You can choose from various symbols such as the Pound sign, the infinity symbol, and various mathematical characters. Or, click "More Symbols" to show the "Symbol" dialog box.

From the "Symbol" dialog box, double-click a symbol to insert it into your document. Or, the following allows for more symbols:

* The "Special Characters" tab offers shortcut to some commonly-used symbols.

* Click the pull-down next to "Font" to look for symbols in other fonts.

* Scroll through the list of characters, or jump through the list by clicking the pull-down next to "Subset". For example, in the "Georgia" font you may see subsets for Box Drawing, Currency Symbols, and General Punctuation, among others.

* Know a symbol's character code? If so, enter it in the "Character Code" box.

* The "from" pull-down may offer more choices such as switching between ASCII and Unicode.
