QuickTime for Windows - Manually Check for Updates

SUMMARY: Manually check to see if any updates are available for QuickTime for Windows.

These instructions were written for QuickTime 7.2. Instructions and screenshots for other versions may vary.




If you have manually disabled the QuickTime for Windows update checking, you should still manually check for updates from time to time. QuickTime updates may include new features and vital security fixes.

1. Open the QuickTime for Windows Control Panel applet.

2. When the "QuickTime Preferences" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Update" tab.

3. Underneath "QuickTime", click the "Update" button and follow the on-screen prompts to update your software.

4. When done, click "OK" to close the dialog box.
