RealPlayer - Tweaks to Fix Video Playback Issues

SUMMARY: Options you can take if RealPlayer 10.5 fails to play movies correctly.

Are movies not displaying correctly or at all inside RealPlayer 10.5, or are videos displaying erratically? Here are some things to check:

A. First, is the connection to the video source reliable? If you cannot get a steady connection to the video your display will not remain seamless. Try accessing other video files from other sites to see if the problem happens to be with one particular video source.

B. Does your video card have an updated driver?

C. Adjust RealPlayer 10.5's CPU usage.

D. Try adjusting the following RealPlayer 10.5 settings.

1. Click "Tools" - "Preferences".

2. When the "Preferences" dialog box appears, click the "Hardware" link in the left pane.

3. Underneath "Playback Performance," uncheck "Enable full screen video controls".

4. Underneath "Video Card Compatibility", move the slider towards the left side ("Most reliable").

5. Click "OK" to save your settings.
