Rename Us is a free Windows application from Vitaliy Levchenko that copies or renames files based on a set of user-defined actions. The software can convert the file case, replace a substring inside filenames, modify prefixes and/or suffixes, and add an auto-incrementing number. Or, perform advanced operations via an expression builder that supports MP3 tags, mathematic functions, and even Boolean operators.

Before executing a project, you can perform a test run to view resulting filenames without performing actual file copies or renaming. For administrative purposes, a TXT or XML-based log file can be generated. Also, renaming / copying projects can be saved and reloaded as needed, useful if you commonly need to perform the same tasks on newly-downloaded files.
