Sites to Browse - Misc - Internet Content Filters

SUMMARY: A collection of Internet Content Filters that claim to protect children against the viewing of illegal, immoral, and indecent content.

As a service to parents concerned about unsafe content their children may be viewing on the Internet, the following are links (active at the time this tip was written) to software packages that claim to filter Internet content. Note that these filtering links are for informational purposes only and do not imply endorsement; I have not reviewed each Internet content filter and can not attest to how well each software package works. Your results will vary, and realize that before you install such software:

1) No Internet content filtering software works 100% of the time - things can slip through the cracks, which is why it is still important to monitor your childrens' Internet usage.

2) Content filters can and will occasionally filter out sites that may be appropriate for some children, including certain educational sites, news, political sites, etc.
