Twinkies Experiments

SUMMARY: University students performed a series of odd and amusing experiments involving Twinkies snacks.

Can Twinkies be used as firewood? How much can you compress a Twinkie yet still maintain its flavor? And what is the structural integrity of a Twinkie?

These and other burning questions can be found at the "T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. Project", a set of 'scientific' experiments conducted by Rice University students in 1995. Though this website circulated around the Internet many times when browsing the web was still new, there are those of you who have yet to learn from this incredibly valuable resource <grin>.

And hey - where else can you find Twinkie haiku?
