Optical Illusions

SUMMARY: Your eyes will play tricks on you when viewing these optical illusions and other phenomena.

I'm sure you've seen optical illusions before, such as the staircase that keeps going up or the picture of a lamp that also looks like two faces.

Michael Bach, a German University professor, has created a webpage with 61 optical illusions and "visual phenomena" you can browse. Some of these, like the 'stepping feet' experiment, are quite interesting (turn off the color to create a surprising jumping effect). Plus check out "Fraser's Spiral", which isn't actually a spiral but your mind plays tricks to make it look like one!

Although an interesting site, a couple of the visuals might be a little disturbing and not appropriate for the kiddies.
