The New Seven Wonders of the World

SUMMARY: See the places the world has voted as the New Seven Wonders of the World.

You may be familiar with the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World such as the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and the Statue of Zeus. However, most of these structures were destroyed long ago.

As many amazing structures have been built since then and are still standing, a group called the New7Wonders Foundation held a worldwide online vote asking people what a revised list of amazing structures should entail.

The vote resulted in the following structures:

* The Great Wall of China
* Petra - Jordan
* The Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil
* Machu Picchu, Peru
* The Chichen Itza site in Mexico
* Italy's Roman Colosseum
* The Taj Mahal in India

Also, the Great Pyramid, still standing, has retained an honorary status.
