Scanner Misc Allow for Extra Warm-up Time SUMMARY: A little extra scanner warm-up time may result in higher quality documents and photos. My experience has always shown that scanners require a little extra time to warm up. Even though you may turn on a scanner and have it perform a few seconds of warm-up activities, show some patience and give the scanner a few extra minutes for the lamp to completely warm up before scanning documents or pictures.
