Turn Off When Not in Use

SUMMARY: Keep your scanner off when not in use to prevent burning out the lamp and wasting electricity.

If you are done scanning documents for the day, or you don't think you'll need to scan documents within a couple of hours, go ahead and turn the scanner off. Turning the scanner off when not in use should (but does not guarantee) increase the life of the internal lamp, plus it can save on your electricity bills. The lamp is arguably the scanner's most crucial element, so keeping it on for long periods of nonuse just provides additional wear and tear.
