FastStone Capture lets you grab the full screen, a window or object, or a rectangular or freehand region. Captures can be sent to a graphics editor, clipboard, file, printer, email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, or to the web via FTP.

After capturing an image the "FastStone Editor" appears allowing you to add a caption, highlight parts of the screen capture, draw squares and other simple objects, create an edge with a shadow, convert the image to sepia tone, and much more.

Configuration options include modifying hotkeys, whether or not the mouse pointer should appear in the screen capture, altering an auto save filename template, image file format, and delay before image capture (with an audible countdown).

One nice feature is that you can download a portable version that requires no installation. This is useful if you want to transport the application from computer to computer via a USB flash drive.
