Ignore Products During a Scan

SUMMARY: Prevent Spybot from cleaning certain types of potential threats from your system, especially if they are just false alarms.

There may be circumstances where you need Spybot Search and Destroy to ignore certain types of products during a scan if you need to keep certain software running on your system. If this is the case, you can force the software to not notify you or fix certain cookies, spybots, trojan horses, or other malware.

To enable this feature, you must be in Advanced mode. From Spybot Search and Destroy, click "Mode" and select "Advanced Mode" if it is not already selected. Then, click "Settings" and then in the right pane, click "Ignore products".

The "Ignore products" right pane will appear. Click on the tabs to view the list of cookies, dialers, malware, etc. that Spybot Search and Destroy can detect. Then, to ignore a specific potential threat, just check the box next to the name of the potential threat.
