Spybot Search and Destroy

View Software Uninstall Information

SUMMARY: Easily query software programs for their publisher, help, copyright, and uninstall information.

To help manage the list of software on your machine and to help detect possible spyware installation, Spybot Search and Destroy includes an Uninstall info list that shows all software programs that have registered an Uninstaller with your system.

This list is similar, though may not be 100% exact to, the list in your computer's Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. This tool, unlike the Control Panel, displays the exact command line that should be used to uninstall the software. Also, with this tool you can export entries to text files in case you need to ask a question of a computer professional. For your convenience, all programs that have been added or changes since you first installed Spybot Search and Destroy are listed in bold.

To view this list:

1. Click "Mode", selecting "Advanced Mode".
2. Click "Tools" in the left pane.
3. Click "Uninstall info" in the right pane.

A list of registered software uninstallers is visible.

* To export the entire list to a text file, click the "Export" button.

* To copy the entire list to the clipboard, right-click an entry and choose "Copy to clipboard".

* To remove an entry (perhaps you uninstalled the software and the entry did not get removed from the Control Panel listing), click on an entry and then click the "Delete" button.

* To make a new system snapshot, changing all bolded links to normal text, right-click an entry and choose "Create snapshot".

Note that many spyware programs WILL NOT register an uninstaller with the system as they wish to remain hidden. Some adware software will do so, however.
