Spybot Search and Destroy - Lock Your Internet Explorer Start Page

SUMMARY: Help keep your Internet Explorer start page from being changed accidentally or by spyware.

While you may have set your Internet Explorer start page to MSN, your favorite portal, MalekTips :), or blank (about:blank), it is possible that installed adware or spyware may change this page to one of their choosing. To help prevent this from happening, you can lock the Internet Explorer start page from being modified.

1. Click "Mode", selecting "Advanced Mode".
2. Click "Tools" in the left pane.
3. Click "IE tweaks" in the right pane.
4. Check "Lock IE start page setting against user changes (current user)".

Two caveats:

1. As mentioned in the checkbox description, this only works for the current user.
2. It is possible that some spyware or adware can unlock this start page and modify it.
