The Bazooka Adware and Spyware Scanner for Windows should be considered part of your arsenal for scanning your machine for such threats. After running removal tools such as Spyware and Ad-aware, consider downloading and running this tool to find other spyware on your machines these other packages may not have found. Though it will not remove threats from your machine, Kephyr (the creator) does maintain an online database of instructions for manually removing found spyware.
