Spyware Doctor

Turn off the Popup Blocker When Needed

SUMMARY: Some websites need to display popup windows. Allow them to do so by turning off Spyware Doctor's popup blocker.

After installing Spyware Doctor, if you are unable to visit and use websites that require popup windows, this is because Spyware Doctor, by default, sets up a popup blocker. Even if you have certain websites 'whitelisted' in your web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, to allow popup windows, Spyware Doctor's popup blocker will still keep popup windows from appearing. Thus, you may wish to temporarily disable Spyware Doctor's popup blocker while accessing these sites.

1. From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
2. Click "Popup Blocker".
3. Click the "Summary" tab.
4. Next to "Popup blocking is now", click the "ON" to change it to "OFF".

Or, you may wish to whitelist certain sites from within Spyware Doctor so they can display popups. Note that these same sites MUST be whitelisted in your web browser as well, otherwise your web browser will block those sites' popups, irregardless of Spyware Doctor's settings.

1. From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
2. Click "Popup Blocker".
3. Click the "Popup Settings" tab.

* To whitelist a domain, click the "Add Domain" link. Enter the URL in the "Popup Blocker" dialog box that follows and click "OK".

* To remove a domain from the whitelist, merely click it and click "Remove Domain".
