Spyware Doctor

Do Not Run Spyware Doctor at System Startup

SUMMARY: Only use Spyware Doctor as a malware scanner; don't start it up automatically when you boot Windows.

You may wish to run Spyware Doctor to scan for and remove potential pests, and nothing more. Once you are done with your scanning you may wish Spyware Doctor to exit without keeping processes running in the background, using CPU time. To disable Spyware Doctor from running on your system startup:

1. First, disable the OnGuard Tools. This way, when you exit Spyware Doctor, these tools won't stay resident in the background.
2. Click the "Settings" button on the left side.
3. Click the "Startup Settings" link.
4. Uncheck "Run at Windows Startup".
5. Click the "Apply" button.

Whenever you wish to exit Spyware Doctor, clicking its "X" to close the window won't exit the application. Instead, right-click the "Spyware Doctor" icon in the system tray and choose "Exit".

Return to the Spyware Doctor page.
