SpywareBlaster

Protect Against Particular ActiveX Controls

SUMMARY: Protect your machine from ActiveX controls that SpywareBlaster does not yet recognize.

If you want SpywareBlaster to protect your machine from a particular ActiveX control it does not yet know about, you can add the control to a custom list. Note that you must first have the ActiveX control's CLSID (class ID, a unique identifier).

1. From SpywareBlaster, click the "Tools" tab on the left.

2. Click the "Custom Blocking" tab on top. From here, you can:

a. Add a new ActiveX control. Click "Add Item", give the control a name you can identify, then the control's CLSID.

b. Remove an item from the custom blocking list. Click on an item then "Remove selected Item".

c. Change a control's CLSID if you typed it in incorrectly. Select an item to change and then click the "Change Selected CLSID" button.

d. Check or uncheck items to block or not block them, then click "Protect Against Checked Items" and/or "Remove Protection for Unchecked Items" to apply your changes.
