SUMMARY: Toggle the Overview map at the bottom-right of the Google Maps application.

At the bottom-right of the Google Maps application is a square "Overview map". You can click and drag throughout this square image to quickly scroll through the surrounding area.

If the Overview map is covering up a needed part of the main map image, or if you just simply want to turn this feature off, click on the arrow pointing down and to the right at the bottom-right of this square. To re-enable the Overview map, note the arrow is now pointing up and to the left. Click it again to make the Overview map reappear.
