Trend Micro Anti-Spyware

Faster Scanning Regardless of CPU Usage

SUMMARY: Configure Trend Micro Anti-Spyware to scan your machine for spyware, adware, and other malware as fast as possible.Bookmark and Share

By default, Trend Micro Anti-Spyware performs what is called a "Trickle Scan". Theoretically, this means that if you happen to use your computer for other software while a scan is taking place, the software will detect that you are trying to multitask and slow down the scanning so your normal computing is not being hampered. Also, this allows background processes (if any) to run without being delayed too much. However, this may make scans take longer.

If you wish scanning to perform as fast as possible, irregardless of whether or not it slows down other running tasks on your machine, try the following tweak:

1. From Trend Micro Anti-Spyware, click the "Options" button.

2. An "Options" dialog box will appear. Click the "+" next to "General Options" to expand the tree.

3. Uncheck "Enable Trickle Scan".

4. Click "OK" to save your changes.
