Trend Micro Anti-Spyware - Perform a Customized Scan

SUMMARY: Perform quicker spyware scans by examining only the items on your computer that you think are most susceptible to attacks.

When you perform malware scans with Trend Micro Anti-Spyware, instead of performing quick scans or a long Full Scan, you can customize your options so you only scan the information on your computer that you think is subject to malware. To do so:

1. From Trend Micro Anti-Spyware, click the "Scan" button.

2. Click the radio button "Perform a Customized Scan".

3. Click the "Configure" button.

4. An "Options" dialog box will appear. Check or uncheck the desired options you wish to scan, including:

* Internet Cookies
* CoolWebSearch variants
* Resident running programs
* Windows Registry
* Website shortcuts
* Specific files and directories (to configure which directories to scan, click the plus-sign next to this option and then the "Configure" button.

5. Click "OK" to close the "Options" dialog box.

6. Click "Start" to begin your scan.
