Remove the Getting Started Screen

SUMMARY: Prevent Visio 2007 from displaying the Getting Started screen every time you start the software.

By default, when you start Microsoft Visio 2007, a "Getting Started with Microsoft Office Visio" screen appears. This provides access to recent documents, recent templates, and links to help and information.

While some people appreciate this welcome screen, others would rather start with a blank slate when opening Visio 2007. Thus, this screen can be disabled:

"Getting Started with Microsoft Office Visio" Screen

1. Select "Tools" - "Options".

2. The "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears. The "View" tab should be selected.

3. Underneath "Show", uncheck "Getting Started Screen".

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
