Windows Vista - Explorer

Forward and Backward Keyboard Shortcuts

SUMMARY: Windows Explorer in Vista supports some of the same navigation keyboard shortcuts as those in Internet Explorer.

Windows Vista Explorer has some of the same keyboard shortcuts as Internet Explorer. The following shortcuts may be useful when navigating folders:

Back to Previous Folder: Alt + Left Arrow

Forward to Next Folder: Alt + Right Arrow

Plus the following shortcut may be useful:

Up one folder level: Alt + Up Arrow or Backspace

Going up one level from a hard drive's root folder takes you to the Computer, and going up one level takes you to the Desktop.
