Windows Vista - Start Menu - Taskbar - Toolbars

Unlock the Taskbar

SUMMARY: Unlock the Windows Vista Taskbar so you can modify how it is displayed.
 
Unlocking the Windows Vista taskbar lets you move, resize, or modify toolbar sizes such as the QuickLaunch area's size.

To do so:

1. Right-click the taskbar.

2. Uncheck "Lock the Taskbar".

To later lock it, just repeat the above steps, clicking "Lock the Taskbar" to re-check it.
