Windows Vista - Start Menu - Taskbar - Toolbars - Move the Taskbar

Although Windows Vista's taskbar defaults to appearing at the bottom of the screen, it can be moved to the top to make the taskbar display look more like a Macintosh. Or, the taskbar can also be moved to the left or right side of the screen, as exemplified by the image to the left.

1. Unlock the Windows Vista Taskbar.

2. With the taskbar unlocked, click and hold on an empty area of the taskbar with the left mouse button, then move your mouse up, down, left, or right.

3. Release the mouse button when you are finished with your selection.

4. Re-lock the taskbar when done.
