Winamp 5 - Misc
Do not Report Anonymous Usage Statistics
SUMMARY: Keep Winamp 5 from reporting usage statistics to a central server.
Similar to some other software packages, Winamp 5 may be configured to report anonymous usage statistics. More information can be found at the Winamp Client Privacy Policy web page.
If you are concerned about privacy, there are two ways to disable this feature, depending on whether you are installing Winamp or already have it installed:
A. During the install procedure, step 4 in the "Winamp Setup" dialog box is "Feedback". Near the bottom of the dialog, uncheck "Yes, allow anonymous usage statistics (recommended)".
B. Assuming Winamp is already installed:
1. Access the "Winamp Preferences" dialog box. You can click on the "Main Menu" button, choosing "Options" - "Preferences". Or, right-click on the title bar and choose "Options" - "Preferences". Or, press Ctrl + P.
2. When the "Winamp Preferences" dialog box appears, click "General Preferences" in the left side of the window.
3. In the right side of the window, uncheck "Allow Winamp to report anonymous usage statistics".
4. Click "Close" to close the dialog box.
