Winamp 5

Change Plug-In Directory

SUMMARY: Move Winamp 5's plug-in directory to another hard drive or partition.

Normally, Winamp 5 Visualization and DSP/Effect plug-ins are located in the directory C:\program files\Winamp5\Plugins. However, if you have two hard drives or hard drive partitions, one for applications and one for data, you may rather have your plug-ins on your data drive to make it easier to back up files. If so, do the following to chance Winamp 5's plug-in directories:

1. Right-click on Winamp 5's title bar, choosing "Options" then "Preferences".
2. When the "Winamp Preferences" dialog box appears, click "Plug-ins".
3. Click the button underneath "Visualization plug-in directory".
4. Choose your desired skins directory, then press "OK".
5. Click the button underneath "DSP/Effect plug-in directory".
6. Choose your desired skins directory, then press "OK".
7. Press "Close" to close the "Winamp Preferences" dialog box.
