Winamp 5 - Visual Tweaks

Use Your Own Playlist Font and Size

SUMMARY: Is the playlist font hard to read? Override it with a font of your choosing.

Depending on your Winamp 5 configuration, your playlist's font may be determined by the Winamp skin. Or, it may use a default font irrespective of the skin.

If desired, you have the option of overriding this to view the playlist in a way that may be easier on your eyes, perhaps with a monospaced font such as Courier New. You can also increase the font size to make filenames / titles easier to see, or decrease the size to pack more in.

Using a different font for the Winamp playlist

1. Access the "Winamp Preferences" dialog box. You can click on the "Main Menu" button, choosing "Options" - "Preferences". Or, right-click on the title bar and choose "Options" - "Preferences". Or, press Ctrl + P.

Accessing Winamp 5 Preferences

2. When the "Winamp Preferences" dialog box appears, click "Playlist" underneath "General Preferences" in the left side of the window.

3. In the right pane, make sure "Use skin or language pack font" is unchecked.

4. Next to the "Use font" pull-down, choose your desired font from the ones provided.

Adjusting Winamp 5's playlist font

5. Next to "Playlist font size, in pixels", enter your desired font size. Note that some fonts will not render with the chosen size.

6. For some fonts / locales, you may need to adjust the "Text Direction".

7. Click "Close" to close the dialog box.
