Disable Title Space Reformatting Before Transferring Files
SUMMARY: Keep Winamp 5 from surprising you when viewing titles of multimedia files transferred to a digital audio player.
Normally, Winamp 5, if it notices an underscore or a "%20" character inside the title of a song, will change those characters to spaces. This is beneficial in that if you download songs that have these characters, you won't have to go back and manually remove them. However, if you transfer these files to digital audio players, annoying underscores and "%20" characters may appear in the titles of songs when listed on your player.
To avoid this surprise in your song titles, you can disable the title reformatting feature of Winamp 5 so that you will know these characters exist. This way you can fix the titles in the songs on your computer before you transfer them to external devices.
1. Right-click on the Winamp 5 title bar, choosing "Options" - "Preferences".
2. When the "Preferences" dialog appears, click "Titles" underneath "General Preferences".
3. Uncheck "Show underscores in titles as spaces" and "Show '%20' in titles as spaces".
4. Press "Close" to close the dialog box.
