Consistency is the Key With the millions of possible borders, backgrounds, buttons, icons, and other assorted clip-art available, it can be very tempting to try out all of them on your web page. My advice - use what you wish, but keep a consistent style and navigation system on your page. When people see websites with different backgrounds and different styles, they immediately think the site is less professional than one with a consistent or semi-consistent look (it's true!).
