WeatherMate provides a simple way for Windows users to view the current weather. It adds an icon to the System Tray of the Taskbar with the current local temperature or that of another city you select. Double-click the icon to open a draggable widget that can be customized to display weather information for multiple cities in a tabbed-based interface.

By default, WeatherMate displays brief current conditions, but can be configured to display the weather in greater detail as well as a forecast or weekly weather summary, plus a radar you may choose to animate. You can even have the application speak the weather.


Other options (click the "Options" link, choosing "All Settings) include switching to metric units, adjusting the update schedule (defaults to updating every 30 minutes), forcing the display to a particular location and locking it in place, and hiding WeatherMate after a period of inactivity.
