Ever needed to quickly find out what day it would be 45 days from now without looking at a calendar? Or want to know how many days it is until a holiday, birthday, meeting, or other special event?

In Windows 7 you don't have to rely on web sites or downloadable software to perform the conversions - the built-in calculator can answer these questions.

1. Open the Calculator - click the "Start" button, select "All Programs", "Accessories", then "Calculator".


2. The Windows Calculator appears. Open the "Date Calculation" pane by selecting "View" - "Date Calculation" or pressing Ctrl + E.

3. The "Date Calculation" pane appears to the right of the main calculator. Underneath "Select the date calculation you want" select from the two options:

* Calculate the difference between two dates
* Add or subtract days to a specified date

4. To calculate the difference, click on the pull-downs next to "From" and "To" to select your beginning and ending dates from the pop-up calendars. Click the "Calculate" button. Underneath you will see the difference in days as well as the difference in years, months, weeks, and days.

Or, when adding and subtracting days, click the "From" pull-down to select the beginning date from the pop-up calendar. Click the "Add" or "Subtract" radio button to add or subtract days from the beginning date. Then click on the spinner arrows to increase or decrease the number of years, months, or days to add or subtract (you can click on the boxes directly if you want to enter in the values). Click the "Calculate" button to see the resulting date.
