Windows Live Hotmail is the latest incarnation of the Hotmail web-based electronic mail service purchased by Microsoft some years back. Hotmail supports:

* E-mail sorting via filters
* Junk e-mail filtering with whitelist and blacklist support
* Mobile e-mail message alerts
* Contact List
* Background theme

To access Windows Live Hotmail for the first time, if you do not already have a Windows Live ID, click the "Sign up" button on the Windows Live Hotmail page and follow the onscreen prompts to create an account. You'll need to create an ID and password, enter some basic personal information and agree to service agreement and privacy statements.
