Toggle or Configure the Details Pane

SUMMARY: Toggle the Details Pane appearing at the bottom of Explorer windows or change its size.

Depending on your configuration, Windows Vista may display a Details Pane at the bottom of opened folders in Explorer. This pane provides details on the currently-selected file(s) and/or folder(s), such as:

* Total size of selected files, and if the files are media files, their total playtime length

* For supported image files, a picture preview as well as image dimensions

* For applications and some other file types, the date the file was created as well as modified

To toggle displaying the Details Pane:

Click on the "Organize" button in an Explorer folder, choose "Layout", then select or unselect "Details Pane".
