Windows Defender
You Have to Validate Windows
SUMMARY: Make sure you have a valid installation of Microsoft Windows before trying to download Windows Defender.
If your copy of Windows is not 100% genuine, you will not be able to download and install Windows Defender. Microsoft requires you to have a genuine copy of Windows before obtaining Windows Defender, and it is assumed this will be required for a greater number of products on Microsoft's website.
Validation is fairly automatic with Internet Explorer, but you can perform validation with Mozilla-based browsers such as Mozilla Firefox. However, you will have to download a plug-in the first time and follow the on-screen prompts.
