SUMMARY: Configure whether or not the screen saver should activate when playing multimedia content in Windows Media Player 10.
Depending on your needs, Windows Media Player 10 can disable the screen saver from running (if any is currently selected) while playing multimedia files.
If you're playing a movie, for example, starting the screen saver would not be recommended as it would hide the movie. However, if you are playing a long playlist of audio files and want to step away from the computer, you may wish the screen saver to start if you prefer its visuals over the Windows Media Player 10 visualizations.
1. Right-click on the Windows Media Player 10 title bar, choosing "Tools" - "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, select the "General" tab.
3. Underneath "Player settings" check or uncheck "Allow screen saver during playback" as desired.
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
