| Keep Winamp Hooked to MP3s During Upgrade SUMMARY: Prevent Windows Media Player 10 from hijacking MP3 playback from Winamp.
If you currently run Winamp to play your MP3 files, you should do the following during the Windows Media Player 10 upgrade process to help ensure it does not take over your MP3 multimedia playback.
During the Windows Media Player 10 upgrade, a "Customize the Installation Options" dialog will appear. When it does, click the "File Types" tab and uncheck "MP3 audio files" to keep Winamp playing these files.
You may want to uncheck other file types, as desired, if you already have preferred multimedia players for said file types.
